Ananke began her study of Middle Eastern dance in 2004, she now performs professionally
all over the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Her style emphasizes both modern
and traditional interpretations, and often includes the usage of various props such
as veils, finger cymbals, and even swords. She is an award-
Ananke attributes her love of the dance to her first teacher, Amara of Germantown, Maryland. She has also studied with El Naar Haninah, Veda Sereem, Yasmin, Nadirah Nasreen, and Artemis.
