Ananke began her study of Middle Eastern dance in 2004, she now performs professionally all over the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area. Her style emphasizes both modern and traditional interpretations, and often includes the usage of various props such as veils, finger cymbals, and even swords. She is an award-winning performer, having placed third in the NorthEast Bellydance competition, Headliner division.

Ananke attributes her love of the dance to her first teacher, Amara of Germantown, Maryland. She has also studied with El Naar Haninah, Veda Sereem, Yasmin, Nadirah Nasreen, and Artemis.

Health and well-being are an important focus for Ananke both in her life and instruction, so in 2008 she earned certification in Group Fitness from the American Council on Exercise. Ananke also is certified in the Veda Sereem technique of Beginning Dance Instruction, and in Beginning Yoga Instruction from SCA Fitness.

As a member and co-founder of the troupe Sahara's Treasure, Ananke performs at charity and women events, haflas, art festivals, and more.
